NY EDEN — Planning Board approves $10,000 escrow for National Grid substation project. The proposed facility at 9733 Southwestern Boulevard would increase regional electrical reliability and reduce load on existing substations, according to National Grid representatives David Saxton and Ari Goldberg of Barclay Damon. The board, chaired by Dan Buchanan, unanimously approved the $10,000 escrow and identified landscaping buffers, black fencing, and a photometric plan for dark sky compliance as conditions.
Town Engineer Dave Johnson required confirmation of acreage, a Department of Transportation highway work permit, and site water pollution prevention measures. The board also unanimously approved allowing delayed installation of streetlights on Jennifer Drive in Evergreen Acres Phase I, conditioned on qualified contractors and no certificates of occupancy until completion.
