Planning Board approves National Grid substation with conditions

NY EDEN — Eden Planning Board votes to advance two site plans. The Board unanimously recommended approval of a Special Use Permit for a new National Grid substation at 9733 Gowanda State Road with conditions including coated black chain link fencing and final site plan approval. Project Manager David Saxton of National Grid presented the facility with Route 62 landscaping screening, with Town Engineer Dave Johnson confirming SWPPP approval and DEC acceptance on Feb. 10, 2026.
Separately, the Board declared itself lead agency for Proline Concrete (Southwest Supply) at 7341 Southwestern Boulevard, proposed by applicant James Sickau, which includes facility renovations, new water infrastructure, and stormwater management with an 18-foot silt sock.
